For anyone who wants to be successful in marketing their business online, whether it’s their network marketing, MLM or home based business, email marketing is an important piece of the puzzle.

But for most people who try to integrate this strategy it seems like a difficult task that’s why majority of their emails suck because they are doing these mistakes.

Don’t worry! After you’ve read this article you will know the 4 email marketing mistakes that’s holding you back and you’ll also discover a couple of tips to improve yourself in email marketing.

1. Boring Emails

One of the main reason while most emails suck big time is because they’re boring. You’ve probably tried writing emails to your list and made it sound “professional” but in reality that simply doesn’t work.

Your emails should be interesting, intriguing and entertaining. As shocking this might be your subscribers desperately want and need to be entertained even on emails.

Think about for a moment:

  • Why do people go to Facebook and YouTube?
  • Why do they go to movies?
  • Why do they pass around stupid jokes and pictures?

The only reason is that people are mostly bored out of their minds and they are looking for some fun and entertainment. So make your emails a combination or information and entertainment and sure enough most of your subscribers will respond to it.

2. Emails That Only Sell

The second reason is an email that looks like a commercial from a television. Nobody wants to read emails that the sole purpose is to only sell something. Don’t just try to pitch you deal because you’ll come across as someone who’s just making hype.

You have to provide value first to your subscribers so that they can know, like and trust you. Think about why they got it your list on the first place. Did they opt in just to be pitched?

If you promised to give them something make sure that you deliver that first, whether it’s a free report or a free video. Prioritize your costumers and you’ll have someone that will buy any product that you promote and can be profitable in the long run.

But let me clear out something. Yes I said that your emails should not look like a commercial or a pitch fest but that doesn’t mean you can’t sell on your emails. Remember, first it has to provide value, second it has to be entertaining then strategically sell you product on your email.

3. Lack of Consistency on Sending Emails

The third reason is inconsistency. Some email marketers think that they’re bothering their list if they are emailing them on a daily basis. This is a big mistake.

You should not be afraid to email them consistently. The more often you email your list the more money you will make. You cannot predict the way your subscribers will respond to your emails. There will be people that may read them twice of some five times a week. With that in mind you need to do it on a daily basis because the more you email you list the more chances and opportunities you have to touch your costumers.

If you’re worrying about people unsubscribing to your list you need to gladly let them go because they most like are not going to buy from you anyway.

4. Being Indifferent

The fourth and final reason is not being different. This is the most important thing and it’s also the key. You’ve got to be different.

As odd this might be being different is good but it has to be different in a good way. Not in a bad or weird or sarcastic way. Be different in a way that you’ll stand out so that people will absolutely pay attention to your emails.

A good way to look at this is to take a look at the emails that you receive and see for yourself which of them stands out. Those emails are the ones that you want to imitate because those emails are the ones that get read.
