In this article you will learn the 4 steps on how you can find the perfect prospect through Facebook prospecting.

But before we go into the specific steps, first let’s talk about what is a perfect prospect?

Basically it’s a prospect that’s qualified not just anyone you find on Facebook and immediately start a conversation with them.

Finding the perfect prospect is the most important step of this strategy because when you’re talking to a qualified person that is good for your business, the conversation takes on a whole new form.

You need to understand this that finding the perfect person to talk to is possibly the best thing you can do for your business.

A lot of people just go on Facebook, find anyone and the first person that they find they’ll immediately start a conversation.

That might seem fast in the short term but in the long run that’s going to take more of your time and waste more of your time because that person isn’t qualified.

Now that’s cleared let’s dive into the steps:

Step 1 – Look in Groups or Fan Pages

Use the Facebook Graph Search and search for groups and fan pages that has to do with your industry. Type in the name of the fan page or group that you think would go along with your industry or product.

Really think about what industry are you in. What kind of groups or pages would people that you want to work with be hanging out at.

Step 2 – Look at Status Updates

You’re going to look at the status updates that people post in those groups and fan pages. First look at the status update of the owner of the page then look at comments of the fans of the page.

Step 3 – Look for People that are Making Intelligent Comments

Looks for certain characteristics. This can be people that are positive, smart, non-argumentative and active. Try to find status updates and comments that are recent because that means they’re active on Facebook and they are more likely to respond to you.

Step 4 – Send them a Personal Message and a Friend Request

Once you’ve find them, first send them are personal message then send them a friend request. You can also send them at the same time. First send them a message then send them a friend request.
